Daviess County music teachers receive major honor | Arts & Culture

Three Daviess County music teachers were honored by the Kentucky Music Educators Association.
DuWayne Dale was named KMEA District 2 High School Teacher of the Year. Dale is the director of bands at Daviess County High School.
West Louisville Elementary School music teacher Gail Waller was named KMEA District 2 Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Mike Clark was presented with the KMEA District 2 Citation of Service. He's the assitant band director at Daviess County High School and sixth grade orchestra director at College View Middle School. Dale was nominated and elected to serve as president-elect for District 2. That includes all KMEA music teachers in this area of Kentucky. He'll hold that position until next summer, when he'll begin his two-year term as district president.
All three were recognized earlier this month at the KMEA conference in Louisville.
