Owensboro family who lost son hosting Veterans celebration Sunday | Community Spirit
In memory and honor of SPC Brandon Scott Mullins, who was killed in August last year and in honor of all of our veterans, the Mullins family is hosting a new, community wide event called "A Kentucky Hometown Veterans Day Celebration" to be held this Sunday at 6pm at Good Shepherd Church.
Here’s the information from the family:
The program will include performances by a few of our world class musicians including pianist, Diane Earle, gospel singer, Alma Randolph, and famous fiddle player, Randy Lanham. Two local choirs will also perform, the Kentucky Youth Chorale and the Mens Mass Community Choir. Featured speakers include Greg Black, retired navy and Mary Tallouzi, Gold Star Mother from the Wounded Warrior Project.
A very special Honor & Remember flag presentation with Roll Call of 108, those Kentucky natives who have died since 9/11. Flags will be presented to the families of SPC Brandon Scott Mullins, 1st Lt. Demetrius Frison, and Sgt. Niconar Amper IV. For more information about Honor and Remember contact Tim Jackson, 606-549-8316.
Our goals for this program are to thank our veterans and their families, and to draw awareness to veterans needs. A homemade cookie reception will follow the program.
