Ohio Co. man arrested after chase in Owensboro area | Crime

An Ohio County man was arrested this week after a chase in Daviess County.  Authorities say it happened late Tuesday afternoon on West 2nd Street at Ewing Road in Owensboro.

Deputies say they tried to pull over 29-year-old Douglas J. Witt III for reckless driving behind the wheel of a black GMC Sierra truck but he took off.  They say Witt drove to Warehouse Road then ran away from the vehicle. He was arrested later on Yosemite Drive.

Witt faces several charges including vehicle theft and driving under the influence.  Police say 29 year old Douglas Witt admitted to taking the truck about a month ago when it was parked near the bypass.  Authorities say he also has unreleated warrants, one from Hancock County and one from Daviess County.
