Jury duty scam calls hit Owensboro | Crime

The Owensboro Police Department wants to share some important information with the community regarding a scam that has been on the rise across the country.   It involves targeting those who don't show up for jury duty.

The caller claims to be the jury duty coordinator, stating that you didn’t show up for jury duty, and that there is a warrant for your arrest. By stating that you were never notified of jury duty, the caller then asks for personal information such as a social security number, date of birth, or bank information to verify their paperwork.

Never give out your personal information over the phone during an unsolicited call.
