KSP chase ends with Daviess Co. man facing long list of charges | Crime
A Daviess County man is in jail after leading state police on a chase Wednesday night.
A trooper on patrol noticed what her termed a ‘suspicious’ vehicle parked at St. Williams Church with a man sitting inside.
When the trooper pulled into the lot, the man pulled out onto Monarch Road and a chase ensued.
After more than four miles, the suspect, Steven E. Roby, pulled into a cornfield, then got out of the vehicle and ran away. He was able to escape but troopers were able to locate his home, where they arrested him a short time later.
He’s facing numerous charges including: Fleeing or evading police 1st offense (motor vehicle), Fleeing or evading police 1st offense (on foot), Possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamines), Failure to wear seat belt, 3 counts failure to or improper signal, Reckless driving and Operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol or drugs.
