Owensboro's Independence Day schedule revised | Events

Due to the high temperature that is forecast for Wednesday evening, the program schedule for the City Of Owensboro’s 4th July events has been revised. The new program is as follows; please note, there is no change to the start time of the fireworks show:
The entertainment will kick-off with a performance by Heath Eric & Molly at 5:45 p.m. The Owensboro Symphony’s Second Street Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. The Honorable Mayor Ron Payne will give the official welcome at 8:05 p.m., followed by the Presentation of Colors and Color Guard by members of VFW Post 696.
The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, led by Nicholas Palmer, Music Director and Conductor, will begin their performance at 8:15 p.m. There will be a short intermission at 8:55 p.m. The evening will continue with the Owensboro Symphony’s return to the stage at 9:05 p.m. The symphony will play through the fireworks extravaganza, scheduled to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.
The boat ramp will be closed from 8:45-9:45 p.m.
