Plan for Daviess County coal mine scrapped | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE)- Plans for a controversial coal mine in Daviess County have been nixed for now.
Western Kentucky Minerals has withdrawn its application to have 385 acres of land in the Pleasant Ridge area rezoned so it can be strip mined for coal.
The company did not give the planning commission an exact reason why they wanted their application withdrawn other than changes were being made.
There will be no action taken on the application at the March 8th planning commission meeting on the mining issue. The commission does expect the coal company to submit a new application in the near future.
