Have you ever seen a "painted piano"? | News
OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE)- In conjunction with the Friday after Five concert series in Owensboro, the city is unveiling a new event tonight that includes pianos spread out throughout the city.
The event is called "Painted Pianos" and it began as a community arts project last year.
Local artists used their own creativity on traditional pianos, and their downtown debut is just hours away.
Friday night, all the pianos will be spread out throughout the city, and the Panther Pianists, from Kentucky Wesleyan will be putting on a show at the different spots around town.
So before you head to the Friday after Five festivities, support the local artists, and see some pretty neat pianos.
The pianos and mini concerts will be at four different locations around Owensboro.
They're going to be at Colby's, the Owensboro Museum of Science and History, the International Bluegrass Museum, and Riverpark Center.
If you don't get to see the pianos tonight, they're going to be featured during the grand opening of Smothers Park on August 24. Then after that, the pianos will be permanently displayed as works of art at these four locations for residents to enjoy.
