OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE)- A death investigation in Spencer County after an Owensboro man dies from a gunshot wound.
Indiana State Police say 20-year-old Cody Bailey was shot with a handgun during a gathering on West River Road.
Troopers say a man and a woman drove Bailey to an Owensboro Emergency Room where he died.
Officials say it's not clear if the shooting was an accident, or if someone intentionally shot the victim. Police say they've made runs before to the place Bailey was shot.
"There's signs of it everywhere and after speaking with some of the deputies that were here helping secure the crime scene earlier, they said they run people off here quite a bit, off the property. It appears to be a pretty popular place for people to come and gather," ISP Sgt. Chad Dick said.
Indiana State Police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting to call to report what they saw.
