Booms for the birds in Owensboro
A pyrotechnic event, which is part of the City of Owensboro’s blackbird control program, will start Monday, February 11 between the 1400 and 1600 blocks of Griffith Avenue between 4:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
Justin Mahoney, wildlife specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s APHIS Wildlife Services, will set off pyrotechnics each evening. Residents in the area should expect the loud noises and flashing lights from the controlled pyrotechnics during that time.
