OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE)- An Elite Weather Spotter Training class is being offered in Daviess County.
It's happening Monday night at Brescia University's Science Building in Owensboro.
The class starts at 6 p.m., and it's free and open to the public.
Rick Shanklin with the National Weather Service will be teaching the class.
The goals are to learn about weather patterns and how to identify and report severe weather.
Because this is an elite class, some basic knowledge of weather spotting is recommended, but no one will be turned away.
If you're interested in learning more about weather spotting or even becoming a certified Weather Spotter, you're encouraged to attend.
The Daviess County Weather Spotters want to remind people that even if you've been to one of these classes in the past, you might want to consider coming tonight, because the information changes every year.
If you're wondering if it's too late to sign up, don't worry.
No registration is required for tonight's class.
All you have to do is show up to learn more about weather spotting.
