OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE)- Some Deer Valley Community Residents in Owensboro may be without power.
Officials say several power poles have been knocked down.
Authorities say it happened just before 4:30 Tuesday morning on the 5200 block of New Hartford Road.
Officials say a deputy with the Daviess County Sheriff's Office saw a power flash in the area and found two electrical poles knocked down just south of College View Middle School.
The deputy says he saw the truck pulling out of a ditch with heavy front end damage.
Officials say the deputy spoke to the driver, 54-year-old Murray Estes, and say that Estes was uninjured. They say that it looks like Estes fell asleep at the wheel.
Authorities say a field sobriety test was done and they say it appeared that the Estes was under the influence of drugs and was arrested on a DUI charge.
