Color Blast set for Saturday in Owensboro | News

The Color Blast 5K will take place this weekend at English Park in downtown Owensboro. 

Participants are encouraged to wear all white so that as they run or walk along the course, they can be blasted with a special colored powder at each mile marker and the finish line. 

This is a non-competitive 5K that includes families, church groups, schools, and many more. 

After the event, an after party will be held with food and live music.

The proceeds raised will go to six organizations that will give a portion to the WHAS Crusade for Children. 

That's a Louisville-based organization that rasies and distributes millions of dollars for special needs children in Kentucky and Indiana. 

The Color Blast aims to raise awareness for people with special needs and their talents.
