The Daviess County Public Schools Board of Education is hosting a special meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the DCPS Central Office, 1622 Southeastern Parkway, Owensboro. The meeting is designed to obtain suggestions from the community regarding how DCPS can best meet the needs of students.
The Board of Education is always open and available to the public, but school officials say they hope residents "take advantage of this special opportunity to share suggestions and comments about our district’s initiatives and priorities".
“Trust is built when decision-making includes honest and open dialog with those who may be impacted by decisions,” DCPS Superintendent Owens Saylor said. “We respect the viewpoints of our parents and community and invite them to attend this meeting to ask questions and share thoughts and suggestions.”
Information gathered at this meeting will be shared with DCPS administrators.
Anyone who wishes to submit suggestions in writing may email comments to owens.saylor@daviess.kyschools.us Communications may also be mailed or delivered to the DCPS Central Office at the address listed above by 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
Following this public forum, the regular monthly meeting of the DCPS Board of Education will begin at 6 p.m.
