Football 101 for moms at DCHS | Sports & Recreation
Title (Max 100 Characters)
The Daviess County High School football program is hosting a “Football 101” clinic for mothers of players. The program is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the DCHS locker room, football practice field and cafeteria. The school is located at 4255 New Hartford Road.
Coach Marcus Kimbrell and his staff have invited “team moms” to participate in this opportunity to learn more about what their sons are experiencing as members of the Panther team. Moms are invited to try on equipment; learn basic offense, defense and rules of the game; try their hand at a few football drills; and hear presentations from KHSAA-certified referee Dan Kazlauskas and Fellowship of Christian Athletes representative Rusty Tichenor.
The evening will conclude with a tailgate party – and for once, the Moms don’t have to cook!.
There will also be a “craft” opportunity as Moms will be invited to decorate red cowbells with their sons’ jersey numbers and other designs. Those attending the program will also receive a special T-shirt that describes what being a DCHS football mom is all about.
