Paving to start on KY 56 starting Saturday | Transportation

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans paving operations along KY 56 in Daviess County starting Saturday, October 29.

Paving along KY 56 runs from the KY 456 intersection at mile point 8.39 extending eastward to the intersection with KY 81 at mile point 14.105, a distance of 5.72 miles.   This section is through the Sorgho community. 

The work will include highway edge rumble strips and beveled shoulders to improve safety.

Motorists can expect to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.  Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.                                                  

Work along this section of KY 56 in eastern Daviess County is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete.  Yager Materials in the prime contractor on this $535,860 highway improvement project.
