Part of Southtown Blvd. closed for bridge build starting Monday | Transportation

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close KY 2121/Southtown Boulevard starting Monday, June 1..

This closure on Southtown Boulevard between Martin Luther King, Jr., Loop and the Gemini Drive/Todd Bridge Road Intersection is to allow the contractor to construct a bridge.  This closure is expected to be in place for approximately 45 days.

Appropriate signs, barricades, and message boards will be in place to alert the public of this closure.  Local access will be maintained on each side of the closure point.  However, due to the intensity of construction activity there will be no through traffic.

Motorists are urged to continue to use appropriate caution in this work zone where equipment and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

The reconstruction of KY 2121/Southtown Boulevard has an expected completion date of June 1, 2013.
