City will try to scare birds away next week
A pyrotechnic event, which is part of the City of Owensboro’s blackbird control program, will take place next week on Tuesday, June 19 in the vicinity of the 2200 block of Yewells Landing North.
Justin Mahoney, wildlife specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s APHIS Wildlife Services, will set off pyrotechnics each evening from approximately 8:00 p.m. Residents in the area should expect the loud noises and flashing lights from the controlled pyrotechnics during that time.
